PRESS-POLISHING TECHNOLOGY

Polaroid exclusively uses a unique press-polishing system for the manufacture of lenses using Polaroid’s RX4000 technology.  Traditional vacuum press systems normally used for producing plastic lenses, take a flat shape and curve it so that it is still almost as dense at the edges as it is in the middle.  This causes distortion in vision around the edges of the lens.  The RX4000 production process has the capability to curve the entire lens to control the light that enters the eye.  This process involves using extreme heat and pressure controlled through a unique forming process.  The benefits of Polaroid press-polishing technology are:
